Custom Jewelry Workshop

Students are invited to choose a project that inspires them from the attached pictures and use it as a starting orient to design and make their very own, unique one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry.

In the workshop, participants will explore the art of beadwork and wire work, learning how to design and create unique jewelry pieces. Skills include:

• Stringing Beads: Selecting appropriate materials and threading beads securely.

• Pattern Design: Arranging beads by color, size, and shape for balanced designs.

• Knotting Techniques: Using knots to add strength, flexibility, and style.

• Wirework Basics: Attaching clasps, jump rings, crimping, and making loops.

• Finishing Touches: Ensuring durability and a polished, professional look.

By the end, participants will have the confidence to create their own beaded necklaces, bracelets, or earrings, along with an understanding of how to combine textures, colors, and materials for personal expression.  No prior experience is needed—just bring your imagination, and I'll guide you through the process step by step.

Workshop Materials Fee:   

$10 and up depending on materials chosen by the student. This does not usually exceed $20.

personal workshop, please contact the Okanagan Folk School at 

info@okfolkschool.ca to set up a time and location. 

Cancelation Policy: 

If OKFS must cancel a course, the student will receive a full refund or a credit towards a future course of their choosing. Students who wish a refund of any payments made for that course should contact the OKFS office at info@okfolkschool.ca. Students who cancel their enrollment more than 7 days prior to the first day of the course and request a refund will receive a refund less a 5% cancellation fee to cover the credit card costs. In recognition of the time and energy instructors invest in preparing for courses, students who cancel their enrollment 6 days or less prior to the first day of the course are not eligible for a refund. Students who do not show up to a course and have not notified OKFS are not eligible for refund.
