About the event

Learn to make, score and bake sourdough in this 3-hour hands on class. You Take home 100g of starter, baked loaf to enjoy with your family after the class and dough made in class to bake in your home the next day.


Course Overview

​When you walk into the cla ss you will find a setup of tools and ingredients to be used to make your very own sourdough dough that you will take home to bake up in your own oven under the instructions you will find in the take-home booklet you receive. You will learn about what starter is, how to feed as well as maintain it, fermentation processes, making then rolling your dough, history of sourdough and recipes you can use your discard in.

This is for anyone wanting to learn about Sourdough

What to Bring

• Willingness to learn and any sourdough questions you may have


Materials are included.

Instructor will supply • Ingredients needed for their take home bread dough

• Bowls • Water • Banneton for students to take their dough home • Booklet

with information and recipes • Loaf of bread for student to take home


Custom Courses

Course Cancellations

If OKFS must cancel a course, the student will receive a full refund or a credit towards a future course of their choosing. Students who wish a refund of any payments made for that course should contact the OKFS office at info@okfolkschool.ca.

Students who cancel their enrollment more than 7 days prior to the first day of the course and request a refund will receive a refund less a 4% cancellation fee to cover the credit card costs. In recognition of the time and energy instructors invest in preparing for courses, students who cancel

their enrollment 6 days or less prior to the first day of the course are not eligible for a refund. Students who do not show up to a course and have

not notified OKFS are not eligible for a refund.
