Indigenous Bead Workshop for Beginners

Indigenous beading is a traditional practice that is shared amongst Metis, First Nations and Inuit, each enhanced with their own unique style and story. Come and learn the basics of beading in this first of a series of levels. You will be learning a beading appliqué technique and Lana will have a few flower designs you can choose from.

Proficiency Level:

This class is open to ages 12 and up.

Number of Students

Minimum: 5. Maximum 10 per class

Course Materials:

$15 material fee (CASH ONLY) to be paid at the start of the class to receive your starter kit. (includes size 8-10 seed beads, needle, thread, Pellon, water soluble paper and few basic starter patterns.

Course Cancellations

If OKFS must cancel a course, the student will receive a full refund or a credit towards a future course of their choosing. Students who wish a refund of any payments made for that course should contact the OKFS office at info@okfolkschool.ca.

Students who cancel their enrollment more than 7 days prior to the first day of the course and request a refund will receive a refund less a 4% cancellation fee to cover the credit card costs. In recognition of the time and energy instructors invest in preparing for courses, students who cancel their enrollment 6 days or less prior to the first day of the course are not eligible for a refund. Students who do not show up to a course and have not notified OKFS are not eligible for a refund.
