About the event

Stories are how people have always passed on what matters. They've moved from fireside to kitchen table to boardroom. In this relaxed, hands-on series, you'll discover why stories move us, how they're built, and how to shape one of your own. By the end, you'll leave with a personal story that's drafted, structured, and ready to share.

Each session stands on its own, so you can join all three or drop into the ones that interest you most.  Taken together, they build from understanding stories to telling your own

Workshop Description:    Part 1

Why do we forget statistics by lunchtime but remember a good story for years? This session explores what happens in our brains when we hear a story, the oral traditions that storytelling grew from, and why stories stick in ways facts alone can't.

You'll compare a message built on data with the same message told as a story, take apart a well-known story to see what makes it work, and finish by writing and sharing your own flash story. Just six words!
